TWO THETA HOUSE FAVORITE RECIPES:
Alumnae from the 90s remember Mom Harrington's dessert that was a hit at Formal Dinners...
CCBs (cookie crumb balls) from the "Dining In In Kansas City, A Collection of recipes from the Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta"
Roll balls of vanilla ice cream in Oreo cookie crumbs. Coat well.
Sauce for CCBs:
1/2 cup butter (no substitutions)1 can (5.33 oz) evaporated milk2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, unsifted6 (1 oz each) squares unsweetened chocolate1 teaspoon vanilla
In double boiler, melt butter. Add milk, sugar and chocolate; cook 10-15 minutes or until chocolate melts. Remove from heat, add vanilla, stir vigorously.
Sauce is best when served at room temperature. For a thinner sauce, more milk or half and half may be added. DO NOT add water. Sauce keeps indefinitely if refrigerated.
